Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
other: An ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The ignition did not last longer than 4 minutes and did not burn the line of test item within 45 seconds.

Findings:

Safety Pre-Test:

A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. The test item showed signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test:

The test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. An ignition was observed within the first 5 cm of the line, where the flame was held. After 30 seconds the ignition went out.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item should be considered as not highly flammable.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to evaluate the flammability of the test substance according to EU Method A.10. An ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. As the ignition did not last longer than 4 minutes and did not burn the line of test item within 45 seconds the test item FAT 31016/R should be considered as not highly flammable.

Description of key information

A study was conducted to evaluate the flammability of the test substance according to EU Method A.10. An ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. As the ignition did not last longer than 4 minutes and did not burn the line of test item within 45 seconds the test item FAT 31016/R should be considered as not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the substance was determined to be not highly flammable, no classification was warranted as per the CLP (Regulation EC No. 1272/2008) criteria.
