Description of key information

Additional information

- The substance is a brown powder with neutral smell.

- The substance has no melting point until 170 °C; thermic decomposition starting at 170 °C.

- The substance had no boiling point until 170 °C, thermic decomposition starting at 170 °C.

- Density of the substance was determined to be 1.4243 g/cm³.

- The particle size distribution of the substance was determined as follows: L10: 11.590 μm; L50: 89.256 μm; L90: 395.024

- The substance undergoes thermic decomposition even before melting. Hence, the study for determination of vapour pressure was considered technically not feasible.

- Partition coefficient (Log Kow) of Basic Red 046 Bromide was estimated  to be -1.43 using Kowwin v 1.68.

- The water solubility of the test substance at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be 7.9 g/L.

- The surface tension of the test substance was determined to be 35.743 mN/m at room temperature ca. 20 °C.

- The substance is a high melting point solid, hence the flash point is considered to be not relevant.

- The auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 495 °C.

- The test item FAT 31016/R should be considered as not highly flammable.

- The substance is considered non-explosive and non-oxidising.
