Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A photolysis experiment is available in which the phototransformation of cyclohexylbenzene is examined in a 50/50 acetonitrile/water solution upon exposure to sunlight for 29 days. The results from the "dark control" incorporated in this experiment give insight in the hydrolysis of cyclohexylbenzene.

No significant decrease in the concentration of cyclohexylbenzene was observed in the sunlight-exposed and the dark control vessels. Therefore, the test substance can be considered to be hydrolytically stable.

This is confirmed by the absence of hydrolysable functional groups in the chemical structure of the substance.

It can therefore be concluded that cyclohexylbenzene is not susceptible to hydrolysis nor to photodegradation.
