Description of key information

The flammability of a liquid is described by its flash point and boiling point.
Based on its chemical structure, the substance is not expected to exert water reactivity or pyrophoric properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is a liquid at ambient temperature. In accordance with chapter R.7.1.10 of REACH guidance 3.2 R7a the flammability of a liquid is described by flash point and boiling point.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the water reactivity study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure water reactivity is not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the pyrophoric properties study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the criteria described in section 2.6 of EU Regulation n° 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) and Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), no classification for flammability is required for a liquid substance with a flash point above 60°C resp. 55°C.
