Additional information

No studies are available that examine the toxicity of Reaction mass of 1,1'-(isopropylidene)bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)benzene] and 1,3-dibromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)-5-{2-[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3,3-tribromo-2-methylpropoxy)phenyl]propan-2-yl}benzene to terrestrial arthropods. However, the substance is considered to be with high probability acutely not harmful to terrestrial arthropods based on both physicochemical properties and the overall toxicity profile of the substance in the aquatic and terrestrial compartment. More specifically the substance has a high molecular weight of 971.68 g/mol and a high log Kow of > 10 indicating a low bioavailability and therefore low risk towards toxicity. This assumption is underpinned by the results of all available ecotoxicity data. No short or long term toxic effects were observed to aquatic organisms and no acute effects were determined in a terrestrial toxicity study with soil macroorganisms. Based on this wide range of evidence the substance is considered to be with high probability acutely not harmful to terrestrial arthropods and no new findings are anticipated with further ecotoxicological tests.
