PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION

There was no acute toxicity of the saturated solution in the limit test. The 96h LC50 of the test substance to Gobiocypris rarus was higher than the concentration of the saturated solution (which measured concentration was below the LOD2, LOD2=89.6 ng/mL) under the tested conditions.

The study by Jing (2014), which examines the short term toxicity of Reaction mass of 1,1'-(isopropylidene)bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)benzene] and 1,3-dibromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)-5-{2-[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3,3-tribromo-2-methylpropoxy)phenyl]propan-2-yl}benzene to fish, was conducted according to OECD guideline 203 and GLP. In a static test system with freshwater, the test organism Gobiocypris rarus, was exposed to a single concentration of 100 mg/L (nominal). The test item was found to be poorly soluble in water and therefore its solution was stirred and filtrated prior to test initiation, in order to prepare a saturated solution. The analytical monitoring via UPLC showed that the concentration of the test substance was below the limit of detection (89.6 ng/mL) during the test. No mortalities were observed during the 96 h test period and the LC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal).
