Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Basic Violet 1 Acetate is produced and put on the market only as acetic aqueous solution.

The analogue substance melting point was therefore tested by thermoanalysis (DSC) according to OECD 102.

An endothermic peak was observed between 30 -120°C, followed by substance decomposition between 150 -244°C. The decomposition onset is 199.7°C with an enthalpy energy of 184.7 J/g.

Based on the read across considerations the same result applies to Basic Violet 1 Acetate and decomposition is expected before melting and boiling at T < 300°C.
