The toxicity of the test substance was studied in an acute immobilization test on Daphnia magna in a limit test according to OECD202. The test organisms were exposed over a period of 48 hours to a saturated solution of the test substance. No adverse effects were observed. Therefore, the EC50 is higher than a saturated solution determined with <1 mg/L. The study was perfomed under GLP (Schering report A34283, 16 Oct. 1996).

The toxicity of the test substance was also studied in a growth inhibition test in the algae Desmodesmus subspicatus according to OECD201. The algal population was incubated wwith the test substance over a period of 72 hours.to a saturated solution and two dilutions (1:10, 1:100). No effect on growth as observed. Therefore, the EC50 for growth inhibition was higher than a saturated solution.

The study was conducted under GLP (Schering report A43690, 22 nOV 2004).
