Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
In the control, not more that 10% of the daphnids have been immobilised.; the dissolved oxygen concentration at the end of the test was > 3 mg/L in control and test vessels (OECD 202, adopted 2004) respectively ≥60% of the air saturation value at the temp
Conclusions:
The 48h-EC50 determined in this study was 106 mg/L
Executive summary:

In a 48-h toxicity study, daphnids (Daphnia magna) were exposed to 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid at nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 10, 18, 32, 56, 100, and 180 mg/L under static conditions in accordance with OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2 and in compliance with GLP. Reliability grade 1 was assigned. Immobilization was observed daily. The 48-hour EC50 was 106 mg/L. The 48-EC0 based on immobilization was 56 mg/L.
