Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
Regarded as valid since no opposite statement was done in OECD-SIDS. Criteria for water parameters fulfilled (oxygen concentration ≥60% saturation, temperature variation less than ± 2°C). No data on test concentrations and on survival of fish at test end.
Conclusions:
3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid showed no potential for bioaccumulation (BCF <4).
Executive summary:

The potential of 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid to bioaccumulate of was determined in a 42-d bioaccumulation study in accordance with OECD Guideline 305 C. Tested concentrations were 0.1 and 1 mg/L. No information about GLP-compliance was available. Compliance with the validity criteria could not be verified. Reliability grade 2 was assigned. The bioconcentration factor (BCF) of 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid was <4 and <0.5 (at concentrations of 0.1 and 1 mg/L, respectively).
