- Fill volume: 100 g soil d.w.
- Sampling intervals: after 0, 1, 2, 14, 28, 90, 181, 272, 363 days
- Aeration: Incubator was purged with moistened air
- Details of traps for volatiles: three adsorption traps filled with ethylenglycol, 0.5 M NaOH

- Description of biotransformation pathway: BAS 490 F is demethylated to the corresponding acid BF 490-1. No further intermediate was detected because the simple aromatic structure of SF 490-1 allowed rapid degradation. CO2 and "bound residues" were found to be the dominating products of biodegradation.
Residues:
yes
Details on results:
- Amount of residual radioactive residues: maximum of 0.212 mg/kg reach at Day 90 until Day 183
- Humic substances: most radioactivity was found in humins, only minor amounts could be dissolved
- Mineralisation rate: after 90 days about 1/5 of IRR was mineralized, after 146 days about 1/4 was mineralized
