First-aid measures

Exposure by inhalation: Remove to fresh air and seek medical advice.

Exposure by skin contact: Wash with soap and water thoroughly. Seek medical advice if necessary. Remover contaminated clothing.

Exposure by eye contact: Flush with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical advice.

Exposure by ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Do not give anything to an unconcious vistim. Seek medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical. Use water spray to cool surface of container.

Specific exposure hazards: Avoid contact with fire and sparks.

Protective equipment for fire-fighters: Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Avoid breathing fumes, vapours or mists. Water may cause frothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not breathe vapour. Use neoprene gloves, chemical splash goggles and use an approved (NIOSH) organic cartridge vapour respirator.

Environmental precautions: Avoid release to the environment.

Methods for cleaning up: dike or contain spill. Apply suitable absorbent. Put in container. Close container. Prevent from entering sewer and waterways. notify proper authorities.

Handling and storage

Precautions: The substance should be handled under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with local regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Technical measures: engineering controls such as local exhaust ventilation should be used in order to minimise exposure to the substance.

Specific design for storage rooms or vessels: The substance is stored in isotanks of mild steel constructipn fitted with silica gel breathers to prevent the ingress of atmospheric moisture.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Local exhaust ventilation used.

Respiratory protection: The use of a vapour mask to a minimum standard of EN405 FFA1 is recommended.

Hand protection: Chemical protective gloves to a Standard EN374 should be provided. Usage periods should not exceed the breakthrough times for the chemical stated by the manufacturer of the glove.

Eye protection: Eye protection should be used when handling the substance. The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in EN166.

Skin protection: Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by standard EN368.
