Principle of method

The density of test item is determined by using pyknometer. It is the ratio of mass of the unit volume of test item at a stated temperature to mass of the same volume of gas free distilled water at a stated temperature.

Additional information

The density of substance 3,5-diaminobenzoic acid (CAS No. 535-87-5)was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the Adapted from ASTM D854-02 using glass pyknometer. The mean density of 3,5-diaminobenzoic acid is was determined to be 1.401 g/cm³at 20°C and 979.6 hPa.

Other supporting study from authoritative database also suggests that the density of chemical 3,5-Diaminobenzoic acid was determined to be1.428±0.06 g/cm3at20 °C and pressue 760 Torr.

As the data from lab has K1 reliability and the test was performed using OECD guidelines which has the value of density as 1.401 g/cm3 at 20 degree C.,thus considered as key study for the chemical safety assessment.
