Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch n°: 00467090 (charge 05C0836)
- Expiration date: 04 May 2006
- Purity: 99.9%
- Storage condition of test material: at room temperature at about 20°C
Key result
Surface tension:
71.8 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
0.1 vol%

Calibration:

The measured value of the surface tension of water: 70.10 mN/m at 20.9°C

Surface tension of water at the test temperature: 72.615 mN/m

Calibration factor is: 72.615/70.10 = 1.0359

The calibration factor was determined by measuring the surface tension of water and comparing with the value available in the laboratory instrument files.

The corrected value was taken from a table compiled on the basis of the Harkins-Jordan correction.

Conclusions:
The surface tension of TIC2782 (T002907) in water (at a concentraion of about 0.1%) was determined to be 71.8 mN/m at 20.0°C +/- 0.1°C. Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC Guideline, T002907 is not a surface active substance.

Description of key information

The surface tension of TIC2782 (T002907) in water (at a concentraion of about 0.1%) was determined in a GLP study performed according to the OECD Guideline 115, EU Method A.5 (Weissenfeld M, 2006) to be 71.8 mN/m at 20.0°C  +/- 0.1°C. Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC Guideline, T002907 is not a surface active substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
