Preliminary test

The first endothermic heat effect, the melting, was observed at 119.9 °C. After the experiment, the sample had lost about 99.6% of its mass, was molten and brownish in color.

Main test

DSC-runs were recorded between 100°C and 170°C with a heating rate of 10 K/min. In the first main test run, a melting point of TIC2782 (T002907) was determined to be at 119.1 °C. The melting point of the test item during the second main test run was determined to be 119.4°C. During these runs, the samples lost 0.4% and 0.5% of their mass, respectively. After the measurement both samples were white and molten. The melting temperature of T002907 was determined as the average melting temperature obtained from Experiment 1 and Experiment 2 and equals 119.2°C (392.4K).

The melting point of TIC2782 (T002907) was determined to be 119.2°C +/- 0.2°C (392.4 K +- 0.2 K) by using DSC.

Description of key information

A GLP study was performed according to OECD guideline 102 and EU Method A.1 without deviations (Weissenfeld M, 2006). The melting point of T002907 was determined to be 119.2°C using DSC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
