Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The mixture is miscible at room temperature.

The experimental data of the individual compounds are as follows:

Polycarboxylic acid: 0.19 mg/L at 20°C at pH 6.5

Alkanolamine: completely miscible

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

For highly soluble substances a homemade method described in the external method EM/00408/01 from Competence Center Analytics, BASF SE (chapter 4: visual method) was applied to investigate complete miscibility.

The test item is complete miscible with water at room temperature. For mixtures with a ratio <8:2 (test item/water) a slightly turbidity could be observed.

As the test substance is a mixture of 2 compounds (1:3, polycarboxylic acid and alkanolamine) thus the water solubility has been also derived from the single compound. The representative compound for polycarboxylic acid is referred to the substance with CAS number 80584-91-4 and the representative compound for alkanolamine is referred to the substance with CAS number 102-71-6.

The experimental data of each compound are as follows:

1) Polycarboxylic acid: 0.19 mg/L at 20°C at pH 6.5

2) Alkanolamine: entirely mixable in water at 20°C
