The test substance UAX-1179 has toxic effects to aquatic invertebrates (EC50 (48 h): 69 mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigated the toxicity of the test substance UAX-1179 (CAS: 351197-46-1) to aquatic invertebrates (Bätscher, 2002). The study followed the OECD Guideline 202. The test organism Daphnia magna was exposed to concentrations of 4.6, 10, 22, 46 and 100 mg/L for 48 h. The test substance was completely soluble in water. No precipitation was noticed. After 24 h 45% of the test species in the highest test concentration of 100 mg/L were found to be immobile. The number of immobile test species increased to 95% after 48 h. No effect on mobility was observed at the lower test concentrations. This resulted in a LC50 (48 h) of 69 mg/L. In conclusion the test substance UAX-1179 has toxic effects to the aquatic invertebrate Daphnia magna under conditions tested.
