Conclusion on classification

Based on the available information cyclohexylmercaptan is classified as aquatic Category Acute 1 for the environment in the EU according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 because short-term data indicate that E(L)C50 values are <1 mg/l. The corresponding M-factor is 1, since the lowest E(L)50 value is in the range 0.1 - 1 mg/l.

In addition the algal NOEC is 0.15 mg/l and the substance is not rapidly degradable, therefore it is also classified as Category Chronic 2 for the environment.
