Description of key information

Toxic effects to sediment organisms were observed in test according to OECD 225. The EC10-values for biomass and reproduction were determined to be 81.0 and 44.6 mg/kg sediment dry weight, respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10, LC10 or NOEC for freshwater sediment:
44.6 mg/kg sediment dw

Additional information

In a GLP study on toxicity to sediment organisms using spiked sediment according to OECD 225 adverse effects of the UVCB substance was observed. After 28 days of exposure, the UVCB substance induced no evident mortality to Lumbriculus variegatus in all test item concentrations. The EC10-value for mortality was > 1000 mg/kg sediment dry weight. The EC10-values for biomass and reproduction were determined to be 81.0 and 44.6 mg/kg sediment dry weight, respectively.
