Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Based on WoE approach, the vapour pressure of 3-chloropropene is 39.5 kPa at 20 °C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Vapour pressure:
- 39.5 kPa
- at the temperature of:
- 20 °C
Additional information
Two phys-chem. handbooks report a vapour pressure for 3 -chloropropene at 20 °C of 39.33 (Spencer 2002) and 39.6 kPa (Yamnolskaya 1944, includes the whole vapour pressure curve for the substance), respectively. In the OECD SIDS dossier of 2003 a value of 39.5 kPa is given, which represents the average of these two values. Even though handbook data usually do not give details on the test item or on the methodology used, the available data set is considered robust, since these data indicate a vapour pressure of 3 -chloropropene very consistently and very closely around the value of 39.5 kPa. For these reasons the value of 39.5 kPa at 20 °C is the vapour pressure of 3 -chloropropene as highlighted above.
There was only one source giving a deviating vapour pressure of 45.2 kPa at 20 °C. Two more sources are giving the results for the so-called Reid Vapour Pressure at 100 °F. Reid vapour pressure is commonly used to characterize crude oil products, thus these data shall be considered as supplemental information only (supporting studies).
