Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

1.0 PBT and vPvB assessment

A substance that is classified as PBT must fulfill all the criteria for persistence “P” and bioaccumulation “B” and toxicity “T”.

A substance that is classified as vPvB must fulfill both the criteria for persistence “vP” and bioaccumulation “vB”.

1.1 Persistence assessment

A manometric respirometry test showed that the substance is ready biodegradable. Therefore, the criteria for persistent “P” and very persistent “vP” are not fulfilled. The substance is not persistent (not “P” and not “vP”).

1.2 Bioaccumulation assessment

In the absence of a measured BCF value, the log Kow value can be used as a screening criterion for bioaccumulative potential (i.e. >4.5). The log Kow of the substance is far below the threshold of 4.5. Therefore, the criteria for bioaccumulative “B” and very bioaccumulative “vB” are not fulfilled. The substance is not bioaccumulative (not “B” and not “vB”).

1.3 Toxicity assessment

Acute toxicity for for all three trophic levels is much higher than the screening criterion of 0.1 mg/L. Therefore, the toxicity “T” criterion is not fulfilled. The substance is not toxic (not “T”).

1.4 Conclusion on PBT and vPvB assessment

The substance does neither fulfill the criteria for a PBT nor for a vPvB substance that are detailed in REACH Regulation, Annex XIII and ECHA Guidance Document R.11 (2008). The substance is not PBT and not vPvB.

2.0 Emission characterisation

As the substance in not PBT and not vPvB an emission characterisation does not need to be conducted.
