Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key study: 48h EL50 of > 100 mg/l and NOELR of 4.64 mg/l for Daphnia magna (OECD 2002), RL1
Supporting study: 24h EL50 of 75 mg/l and NOELR of 56 mg/l for Daphnia magna (OECD 202), RL1

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A 48-h EL50value of>100 mg/l and a NOELR of 4.64 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the test substance on mobility of Daphnia magna (OECD Method 202, LPT 2003). The result was obtained with pH adjustment of the test media. In a supporting study a 24-hour EL50 value of 75 mg/l and NOELR of 56 mg/l have been determined for the same endpoint (TNO, 1999). The results of both tests are expressed relative to nominal loading rates of the test substance. However the substance is subject to rapid hydrolysis and under the test conditions it is therefore likely that exposure will have been to its hydrolysis products (hydrochloric acid and silanes).
