Additional information

A lot of publications focus on the use of Zn-phthalocyanine as a photosensitizing agent for tumor treatment. For such applications, intravenous injection is applied indicating that oral dosing does not lead to systemic availability. This is supported by experimental data on repeated dose toxicity of Cu-phtholocyanine. Both substances are highly insoluble in water (< 0.06 mg/L) and have a molecular weight of above 500 g/mol.
