Description of key information
In a GLP expert statement it was concluded that the substance has no explosive properties because it lacks structural alerts and the calculated oxygen balance was < -200%. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the explosive properties study was not performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on the expert statement, classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 is not necessary.
Based on structural features, relevant study results and on experience in handling, VC does not have to be classified as a self-reactive substance.
