Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PREPARATION OF SAMPLE
- Test material (0.1042 g) was diluted to 100 mL with acetonitrile.

PREPARATION OF DEAD TIME SOLUTION
- Dead time was determined by measuring the retention time of formamide (99.94 %; 344 mg/L in mobile phase.

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIME
- Sample dead time and reference standard solutions were injected in duplicate using the following HPLC parameters:
- Instrument: Aglient Technologies 1050/1100 incorporating autosampler and workstation
- Column: CN Optimal 5μ (150 x 4.6 mm id)
- Column temperature: 40 ºC
- Mobile phase: Methanol:water (55:45 v/v)
- Flow-rate: 1.0 mL/min
- Injection volume: 10 μL
- UV detector wavelength: 210 nm (dead time and reference standards); 205 nm (sample)

DISCUSSION
- In the absence of any dissociating functional groups, no specific manipulation of the mobile phase pH was required to ensure that the test item was analysed in a molecular form.
- Assessment of ionised forms was not applicable to the test material.

Additional information

Method

The determination was carried out using the HPLC screening method, designed to be compatible with Method 121 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 22 January 2001 and Method C19 Adsorption Coefficient of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Conclusion

The adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the test item has been determined to be 1.42 x 103, log10Koc3.15.
