There are no microorganism toxicity data available for 3-(diethoxymethylsilyl)propylamine
, therefore good quality data for the structurally-related substance 2,2-dimethyl-4-(trimethoxysilyl)butylamine (CAS 157923-74-5), have been read across. Both substances hydrolyse to structurally-related silanol hydrolysis products,3-(dihydroxymethylsilyl)propylamine
and2,2-dimethyl-4-(trihydroxysilyl)butylamine, respectively (with hydrolysis half-lives of 6 hours (measured) and 4.1 hours (predicted), respectively.

he other hydrolysis products are ethanol and methanol, which do not have adverse effects on microorganisms.Both 3-(diethoxymethylsilyl)propylamine
