Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption, other
Remarks:
adsorption
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
weight of evidence
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model, but not (completely) falling into its applicability domain, with adequate and reliable documentation / justification
Remarks:
The substance is not fully compliant with the applicability domain of the model. However, this calculation is used in a weight of evidence approach, in accordance to the REACh Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI General rules for adaptation of the standard testing regime set out in Annexes VII to X, 1.2. It is adequately documented and justified: the prediction is evaluated on the basis of the model performance on similar substances. For more details see section `overall remarks, attachments´.

Description of key information

log Koc: > 5 (KOCWIN v2.00)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviour of Propane-1,2,3-triyl 2-ethylhexanoate (CAS No. 7360-38-5) are available. Using KOCWIN Program (v2.00), a log Koc value of 6.28 was calculated based on the molecular conductivity index (MCI) and 5.761 for the log Pow based estimate. The result of the QSAR calculation is considered appropriate as the substance is within the applicability domain of the used model. Based on this information, it can be assumed that the adsorption potential of Propane-1,2,3-triyl 2-ethylhexanoate is high.
