Description of key information

The viscosity was determined according to OECD 114 guideline using a rotational viscometer.
The viscosity of the test item is:
770 mPa•s at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
770 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The substance shows Newtonian behaviour.

A simple statistical analysis of the viscosity values is shown in Table 1 of the final report. This indicates good reproducibility. However, the general experience with the cone-plate rheometer indicates that the uncertainty of viscosity values is unlikely to be better than ±2.5%. This value, which is larger than the standard error of the mean in Table 1 of the final report, has been used as the basis for the uncertainty quoted.

The best estimates for the dynamic viscosity are:        770 ± 20 mPa·s at 20 °C

                                                                                150 ± 4 mPa·s at 40 °C
