Description of key information

The aquatic toxicity was predicted by a QSAR, the PETROTOX v4.0 computer model. PETROTOX is a well-documented and peer reviewed model that is widely used across the chemicals industry. The substances of this category fit within the criteria of the model and there are no reservations about the validity of the model runs. The predicted E(L)L50 values for aquatic species ranged from 0.770 to >1000 mg/L.The predicted EL10 values for aquatic species ranged from 0.147 to 11.0 mg/L.

QSAR Predictions (PETROTOX):

The following PETROTOX model data on the acute and chronic aquatic toxicity of Distillates (Petroleum), steam-cracked, dimerised (C5-12, C10-rich) are available:

The predicted LL50 and EL10 for Distillates (Petroleum), steam-cracked, dimerised (C5-12, C10-rich) for O. mykissis 1.05 mg/L and 0.200 mg/L, respectively.

The predicted LL50 and EL10 for Distillates (Petroleum), steam-cracked, dimerised (C5-12, C10-rich) for D. magna was 2.91 mg/L and 0.350 mg/L, respectively.

The predicted EL50 and EL10 for Distillates (Petroleum), steam-cracked, dimerised (C5-12, C10-rich) for P. subcapitata were 0.770 mg/L and 0.147 mg/L, respectively.

The predicted EL50 and EL10 for Distillates (Petroleum), steam-cracked, dimerised (C5-12, C10-rich) for Activated Sludge were >1000 mg/L and 11.0 mg/L, respectively.
