Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18 November 2008 to 18 December 2008
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Justification for type of information:
Due to the properties of the test material, the partition coefficient could only be estimated in silico. This approach is considered fully acceptable.
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
No determination was possible according to Method A6 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, as the test material formed fine dispersions in water. Therefore, the water solubility was calculated using computer-based specialist estimation software, WSKOW, version 1.41, (2000) US Environmental Protection Agency. The estimation was performed by fragment constant methodology using specialist estimation software. The software was validated with reference substances which have one or more or similar functional groups present in the test material.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: In silico: Fragment constant methodology
Key result
Water solubility:
> 0 - < 0 g/L
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7
Details on results:
Using the structural data submitted by the sponsor, the calculation gave a water solubility estimate in the range of 3.46 x 10-2 to 1.04 x 10-4 mg/l at 25 degC.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results: insoluble (< 0.1 mg/L)

Using a fragment constant methodology, the water solubility of the test material has been estimated to be in the range of 3.46 x 10-5 to 1.04 x 10-7 g/l at 25 degC.
Executive summary:

Using a fragment constant methodology, the water solubility of the test material has been estimated to be in the range of 3.46 x 10-5 to 1.04 x 10-7 g/l at 25 degC.

Description of key information
