Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
Waived based on an expert statement that is considered to be fully acceptable.

Description of key information

The substance does not have any relevant functional groups and is therefore not considered to be an oxidising agent.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

The theoretical evaluation of the test material and its structure were discussed in an expert statement.

Considering the structural environment of oxygen in the molecule and the oxygen balance of Hydrolysed reaction products of furan-2,5-dione and C15-18-(linear and branched)-alkenes, it can be concluded, beyond reasonable doubt, that Hydrolysed reaction products of furan-2,5-dione and C15-18-(linear and branched)-alkenes is unlikely to be an oxidiser and will be incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials. It need not be tested experimentally for oxidising properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance is not an oxidising agent based on a theoretical assessment. Therefore, Hydrolysed reaction products of furan-2,5-dione and C15-18-(linear and branched)-alkenes does not warrant any classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
