Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2009
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
There is no information on the specifications of the test material
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Boiling pt.:
357.9 °C
Atm. press.:
1 atm

Two endothermic events were observed for this determination. Duplicate results of 151.25°C and 151.30°C were obtained for the first boiling point and 356.84°C and 358.91°C for the second boiling point. The accuracy of this technique is usually within 2.4% of the accepted value of a pure substance (i.e. pure water).

Conclusions:
The boiling point of the substance is 357.9°C (with a boiling point of 151.3°C for the residual olefin)
Executive summary:

The boiling point of the substance is 357.9°C (with a boiling point of 151.3°C for the residual olefin)

Description of key information

The boiling point of Hydrolysed reaction products of furan-2,5-dione and C15-18-(linear and branched)-alkenes is reported to be 357.9 ºC

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
357.9 °C

Additional information

The study (Goodwin, M., 2009) was carried out according to OECD Guideline 103. The boiling point of the polymer portion of the product is 357.9 ºC (with a boiling point of 151.3ºC for the residual olefin)
