At 24 hours after mixing, the amount of acrylic acid in the water reatched the theoretical maximum based on the amount added. This was confirmed at 48 horus. There was evidence of chemical Instability of zinc diacrylate in water during the test. It dissociated rapidly and completely into acrylic acid and an insoluble zinc compound. The white precipitate was added to water and the water was analyzed for acrylic acid, but contained none. It is likely that the white precipitate is Zinc hydroxide.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, zinc diacrylate completely dissociates in water. As acrylic acid is similarly completely miscible with water at 20 ± 0.5°C with a solubility of 25 g/L, zinc dlacrylate is considered similarly miscible in water. The Insoluble white precipitate that was observed during the test is likely zinc hydroxide. The solubility of the zinc diacrylate was established to be greater than 28.8 g/L.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the water solubility of the test substance according to OECD Guideline 105. The results of the preliminary study indicated a water solubility in the gram/liter range. Based on the results of the preliminary test, 25 grams of the zinc diacrylate/liter of water was tested in the main study. The flask method was used for the determination of solubility. Three five-gram samples were weighed into flasks containing 200 ml of water. Analytical verification was performed by GC/MS. At 24 hours after mixing, the amount of acrylic acid in the water reached the theoretical maximum based on the amount added. This was confirmed at 48 horus. There was evidence of chemical Instability of zinc diacrylate in water during the test. It dissociated rapidly and completely into acrylic acid and an insoluble zinc compound.
