The 48 hour EC50 of 2-AMINO-6-CHLORO-4-NITROPHENOL to daphnia magna was 5.17 mg/L, based on nominal concentrations.

The 48 h EC50 of 2-AMINO-6-CHLORO-4-NITROPHENOL to daphnia magna was determined , following the OECD Guideline 202 and the EU C2 Method (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test) and the GLP. 

Daphnids were exposed to the test item concentrations of 0, 0.485, 1.07, 2.35, 5.17, 11.4 and 25.0 mg/L under static conditions.The results of analysis demonstrated concentrations of the test solutions to be over 80% of the nominal concentrations during the exposure period. The results were based on nominal concentrations.

Four replicates each containing 5 daphnids were used for each test concentration. The validity critaria are fulfilled with no mortality in the controls and more than 3 mg/L of oxygen concentration at the end of the test.

Both 24 and 48 hours after dosing, daphnids were observed for immobilization. After 48 hours of exposure, no mortality was observed at the lowest three doses i.e.0.485, 1.07, and 2.35 mg/L. At 5.17 mg/L, 10 daphnids died out of 20 exposed daphnids. All exposed daphnids died at the concentration of 11.4 and 25.0 mg/L.

This acute toxicity test is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirement for the current OECD 202 and EU C2 Method (Daphnia sp. acute Immobilization test).
