Additional information

The adsorption coefficient of the 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was determined under GLP and following methods comparable to the OECD 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (KOC) guideline on Soil and on Sewage Sludge) using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)) .

The estimation of KOCof test material was conducted with a test material in mobile phase consisting of methanol and water in the ratio 55/45 (v/v). Samples of the test material were analyzed through HPLC on a cyanopropyl (CN-) column coupled with UV/V is detector (at 254 nm).

Calibration was performed using six reference materials with known values of log KOC, each with a nominal concentration of 1 mg/L in mobile phase. Dead time of the HPLC-system was determined to be 3.50 min. The column temperature was maintained at room temperature throughout the study.

The retention time of the test item was 5.69 min.The Adsorption Coefficient, KOCof 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol deduced from the calibration curve was determined to be 249 (log KOC: 2.40).

This partition coefficient test is classified as acceptable, and satisfies the guideline requirements of the OECD 121 method.
