Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: not irritating
Conclusions:
Skin irritation was not observed in any of the rabbits after 72 hours of patch removal.
Hence, Sodium formate can be considered to be not irritating to skin.
Executive summary:

The dermal irritation potential of Sodium formate was assessed in 4 rabbits (3 male, 1 female).

Sodium formate(in physiological saline) was applied to 4 abraded sites per rabbit (left, right and front, back) under an occlusive patch for 24 hours. The reactions were observed and scored at 72 hours after patch removal. Skin irritation was not observed in any of the rabbits after 72 hours of patch removal.

Hence, Sodium formate can be considered to be not irritating to skin.
