Members of the butenes category are flammable gases at room temperature but in liquid form they may cause burns and frostbite due to extreme cold.
accordance with REACH Annexes VII and VIII, column 2 adaptation, studies
on skin and eye irritation do not need to be conducted as members of the
butenes category are flammable gases at room temperature. There are no
data available as no skin or eye irritation studies have been conducted
with members of this category, because testing is not technically
feasible, but category members have shown no signs of irritation in
repeated-exposure inhalation studies at concentrations as high as 50%
LEL. Based on physical chemical properties, liquid butenes may cause
burns and frostbite due to the extreme cold of the liquid.
the butenes category are flammable gases at room temperature. There is
no evidence that category members are irritating and therefore do not
warrant classification under GHS/CLP.
