Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of 1,1,2,2 -tetrachloro-1,2 –difluoroethane are discussed under the ACGIH sheet for the substance.

The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists(ACGIH) is a professional association of industrial hygienists and practitioners of related professions. One of the goals of the association is to provide information and guideline on exposure limits of substances in order to advance worker protection, and to this purpose the available scientific data on substances are revised.

According to the reference, chlorofluorocarbons as 1,1,2,2 -tetrachloro-1,2 –difluoroethane, appear to be eliminated almost exclusively through the respiratory tract. Little, if any, chlorofluorocarbon or metabolite has ever been reported in urine and feces. 1,1,2,2 -tetrachloro-1,2 –difluoroethane is absorbed by the lung and undergoes little, if any, significant biotransformation.
