Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The mixture of alcohols propoxylated (C16-18 and C18 unsaturated, < 2.5 PO, CAS 70955-07-6) is readily biodegradable. The potential to persist in the environment is thus not given. Abiotic degradation like hydrolysis and photolysis is not an important process in case of propoxylated alcohols due to the chemical structure of these substances.

Experimentally determined BCF-values given for pure homologues of the structural similar alcohol ethoxylates. This data are summarized in the publication of Tolls et al. (2000) and are used for Alcohols, C16-18 (even numbered) and C18 unsaturated, < 2.5 PO (CAS 70955-07-6) as read-across data for the endpoint bioaccumulation in water. It can be stated that bioaccumulation is regarded to be negligible as the surfactants will be rapidly metabolised. For more detail see endpoint summary for bioaccumulation.

Concerning transport and distribution of the alcohol propoxylated mixtures a high adsorption of the substances is determined by using QSAR-models. Adsorption onto surfaces is thus expected.
