Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Calculation

ρm= ρ1 x (m2-m1) / (m4-m1) – (m3-m2)

ρm= Density of test substance at 20 °C [g/ml]

ρ1= Density of displacement liquid at 20 °C [g/ml] = 0.7819

m1= Mass of pycnometer [g]

m2= Mass of pycnometer + test substance [g]

m3= Mass of pycnometer + test substance + displacement liquid [g]

m4= Mass of pycnometer + displacement liquid [g]

* The relative density D20/4 is the ratio between the measured density of the test substance at 20 °C and the density of water at 4 °C (= 0.99997 g/cm³). The relative density has no dimension.

Conclusions:
A density value of 0.992 at 20°C was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol. It was not compliant with GLP.

Additional information

A density value of 0.922 g/cm³ at 20°C was determined using the pycnometer method according to EU Method A.3. In a supporting study a density value of 0.86 g/cm³ at 20 °C was obtained using an accepted calculation method (QSAR). The result is considered to be reliable.
