Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Remarks:
At standard conditions (20 °C) the test substance is solid. The melting temperature is 25.7°C, therefore the flammable nature of the liquid must be considered.
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Remarks:
At standard conditions (20 °C) the test substance is solid. The melting temperature is 25.7°C, therefore the flammability in contact with water must be considered.
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Remarks:
At standard conditions (20 °C) the test substance is solid. The melting temperature is 25.7°C, therefore the pyrophoric nature of the liquid must be considered.
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

non flammable
no pyrophoricity
no flammability in contact with water

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

According to EC 1907/2006 Annex XI only the flammability of liquids is deduced from the flash point. For this solid substance a flash point was determined because the substance melts at relative low temperatures. Therefore the flammability in this case could be deduced from the flash point.

Flash point 114.0°C (closed cup)

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on the flash point and the boiling point of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification as flammable liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification.

The available data on pyrophoricity and flammbility in contact with water of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water are not expected.
