Additional information

The adsorption/desorption behaviour of 6 -ethyl-2 -toluidine is characterized by an estimated logKoc of 2.37 (Bayer Industry Services, 2004) indicating a low potential to sorb on soil or sediment.

6 -Ethyl-2 -toluidne is characterized by a Henrys Law Constant (25°C) of 0.31 Pa*m³/mole calculated according to the Bond Method using EPI Suite software (Bayer Industry Services 2004). Therefore, the substance has a low migration potential from water to air whereas the rate is controlled by the slow diffusion through air.

Calculation according to Mackay Level I, the target compartment of the environmental distribution of 2-ethyl-6 -methylaniline is water with 80 %, followed by air with 14 %, and soil and sediment in each case 2.9 %. (Currenta 2009)
