Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (sensitising)
Additional information:

In an LLNA study in mice, a stimulation index of greater than 3 was recorded for the three concentrations of the test material (10%, 25% and 50%). No signs of systemic toxicity were observed in test or control animals during the study period. Very dark re-coloured staining of the fur was noted in test animals one hour post dosing throughout the study period. Based on the results of this study, the test substance is considered a skin sensitizer.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
An LLNA study in mice with the test substance is available. The test was performed according to OECD guidelines and GLP.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above mentioned result, the substance shall be classified for skin sensitization:

- according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008: Skin Sens. 1, H317

- and according to the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC: Xi, R43
