Based on QSAR calculations for the main components of Multi constituent ester of pentaerythritol 2-ethylhexanoate using AOPWIN v1.92, the substance is susceptible to indirect photodegradation in air. The estimated half life for the reaction with OH-radicals is in the range of 11.73 to 15.57 hours (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm3). However, photodegradation is not expected to be an important environmental fate process since the main components of the substance are not expected to evaporate into the atmosphere due to their very low vapour pressures of < 1 Pa at 20 °C. As this study is not a standard information requirement in REACH and there is no indication from the CSA on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.
