Description of key information

The solubility of charcoal (several test items with different quantities in fixed carbon content) was determined by the column method according to EU method A.6.
The water solubility of charcoal is stated at:
a) < 1 mg/l (Probe 1: C-Fix = 73.3%) at 21.3 ± 0.2oC
b) 4.6 mg/l (Probe 2: C-Fix = 80.5 %) at 22.4 ± 0.2oC
c) < 1 mg/l (Probe 3: C-Fix = 88.7%) at 22.5 ± 0.2oC
As a result the charcoal is slight soluble in water.
