Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is inorganic
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance does not dissolve in water or in octanol
other:
Justification for type of information:
Transformation dissolution test demonstrates that substance is slightly soluble. When dissolved, the substance dissociates in water in Ag and behenate to levels above the ecotoxicity reference value. In accordance with column 2, Annex VII of the regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), the partition coefficient study does not need to be conducted as the substance if the test cannot be performed: the substance decomposes partly in Ag and behenate acid.
For Ag, in accordance with column 2, Annex VII of the regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), the partition coefficient study does not need to be conducted as the substance is inorganic.
Read-across to behenate is done.

Description of key information

Transformation dissolution test demonstrates that substance dissociates in water in Ag and behenate to levels above the ecotoxicity reference value.

In accordance with column 2, Annex VII of the regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), the partition coefficient study does not need to be conducted if the test cannot be performed: as the substance decomposes partly in Ag and behenate acid.

For Ag, in accordance with column 2, Annex VII of the regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), the partition coefficient study does not need to be conducted as the substance is inorganic. For behenate, the log Pow was calculated at 9.91.
