Due to the identical molecular weight of source and target substance, the effect concentrations for the source substance are also valid for the target substance without further adjustment.

Conclusions:
In a nitrogen-transformation test (OECD TG 216; GLP) in Lucerne amended soil during 28 days with the source substance 1,6-hexane diamine (HMD; CAS No. 124-09-4), no adverse effects were observed:

Up to and including the highest tested concentration of 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight, nitrate concentration in soil on day 28 increased as a function of test item concentration, i.e. nitrate concentrations in treatments were higher than the control value for all test item concentrations. This observation strongly suggests that nitrogen from the test item was transformed to nitrate by the soil microorganisms. Due to lack of adverse effects, inhibitory concentrations (ICx) could not be calculated. Consequently, ICx values are considered to be higher than 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight, which was the highest tested concentration. Accordingly, LOAEC and NOAEC are > and = 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight, respectively.

Because of the identical molecular weight, these results are directly applicable to the target substance MPMD.

The study used as source investigated the terrestrial toxicity after long-term exposure towards microorganisms, according to OECD TG 216 (2000). The study results of the source compound were considered applicable to the target compound. Description of key information
