Description of key information

At ambient conditions carboxylic acids are stable in aqueous surroundings.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Carboxylic acids may dissociate but do not hydrolyse in aqueous environmental compartments under ambient conditions. Hence, the substance is considered to be stable (GUBDH, 2008).
