After 96 hours of exposure a total of 90% mortality was recorded at nominally 1000 mg/l, while 20% mortality was recorded at 560 mg/l. No biologically significant lethal effects in rainbow trout were observed at or below nominally 320 mg/l. Effects other than mortality, were mainly observed in fish exposed to 560 mg/l and higher. The most important effects recorded were discolouring and/or hypoactivity.
The analytical results could not be quantified owing to the complex composition of DC 5067. The chromatographic patterns of the samples taken from the fresh media were comparable with the chromatographic patterns of the samples taken from the 24-hour old media, except for some minor differences.
The LC50 values calculated from these data decreased from >l000 mg/l at 24 hours to 656 mg/l at 96 hours with a 95% confidence interval of 407 to 1810 mgll. The slope of the concentration/response curve at 96 hours was 5.16.

96-hour Acute Toxicity Study in the Rainbow Trout with DC5067.
Ten fish per concentration were exposed for a maximum of 96 hours in a semi-static system to a concentration range for nominally 100 to 1000 mg/l.
After 96 hours of exposure a total of 904 mortality was recorded at nominally 1000 mg/l, while 20% mortality was recorded at 560 mg/l. No biologically significant lethal effects in rainbow trout were observed at or below nominally 320 mg/l. Effects other than mortality, were mainly observed in fish exposed to 560 mg/l and higher. The most important effects recorded were discoloring and/or hypoactivity.
The LC50 values calculated from these data decreased from >l000 mg/l at 24 hours to 656 mg/l at 96 hours with a 95% confidence interval of 407 to 1810 mg/l. The slope of the concentration/response curve at 96 hours was 5.16.
