Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

reference to same study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
visual inspection
differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
GLP compliance:
no
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Form:
other: wax-like
Colour:
colourless
Substance type:
organic
Conclusions:
The test item is colourless, wax-like mass.
Executive summary:

In a certificate of analysis, the phase-transition temperature is indicated from solid to liquid.

This is supported by the melting point study, where it is stated in the 'Presentation of the Test Item' that the appearance / physical state / colour is a colourless, wax-like mass. This was done by visual inspection.

In this study, the melting point of the test item was tested according to EU Method A.1 and OECD Guideline 102 in a non-GLP study. No exothermic effect was observed and the sample has a melting point of 51.4 °C (mean of two determinations).
